My contentment at work is making a difference in the lives of the downtrodden, says Dr. Qazi Kholiquzzaman Ahmad in IPDC Ogroj.


Eminent economist and development practitioner Dr. Qazi Kholiquzzaman Ahmad in the twelfth episode of IPDC Ogroj.

The twelfth episode of IPDC Ogroj, organized by IPDC Finance, sheds light on the life and achievements of Dr. Qazi Kholiquzzaman Ahmad. All the episodes in IPDC Ogroj feature protagonists of the post-independent Bangladesh era, who have contributed to establishing various sectors.

Host Anis A. Khan, veteran banker was seen having an in-depth conversation with Dr. Qazi, who is a leading character in developing the economy and social area of Bangladesh.

Born in Sylhet district, he completed his MA in Economics from Dhaka University and his Ph.D. in the same subject at the London School of Economics. He also holds a Ph.D. in political science from the University of London.

Participating in the liberation war of Bangladesh. Dr. Qazi Kholiquzzaman Ahmad was involved in the planning cell of the Mujibnagar government.

Dr. Qazi Kholiquzzaman Ahmad is currently Chairman of Governing Council of Dhaka School of Economics (DScE), which is a constituent institution of the University of Dhaka and is devoted to both post-graduate and undergraduate studies in economics and related subjects; and Chairman, Palli Karma-Sahayak Foundation (PKSF). Founder Chairman of the Bangladesh Development Council and former President of the Bangladesh Economic Association. Dr. Qazi Kholiquzzaman Ahmad is currently the Chairman of the Governing Council of the Dhaka School of Economics and the Governing Body of the Palli Karma-Sahayak Foundation.

As the Vice-Chairman of the National Education Policy-2010 Formulation Committee, he has made a significant contribution in the formulation of education policy. He has written and edited 40 books on various subjects and more than two fifty articles, including research reports.

He was awarded the Ekushey Padak and the Independence Award to recognize his remarkable contribution to poverty alleviation and social service.
